Fish sauce is so important when making homemade Vietnamese food. Make some on the weekend and enjoy throughout the week. Or, make it if you have that Vietnamese food craving on a weeknight because it’s so easy to make!

Homemade restaurant style fish sauce
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Condensed fish sauce
- 3 tbsp White sugar
- 6 tbsp Water
- 2 tbsp Lime (or lemon)
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1-2 Thai chili
Instructions
- Heat up 6 tbsp Water and wait until it boils.
- Meanwhile, mince 3 cloves Garlic and 1-2 Thai chili. Adjust Adjust the number of chili's to your preferred spiciness.
- Scoop 3 tbsp White sugar into bowl or cup.
- Add hot water and stir until sugar dissolved.
- Add 3 tbsp Condensed fish sauce to the hot water mix.
- Add 2 tbsp Lime and stir. Taste fish sauce and add more lime to your liking.
- Add minced garlic and chili and give it one more stir. Allow to cool to room temperature before enjoying with your favorite Vietnamese dishes. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
